Hurling county medal at 48

Damien Fox (48) won an Offaly senior hurling medal with Offaly today as Tullamore claimed their first Offaly title in 45 years as they beat Kilcormac/Killoughey 2-12 to 0-11.

They beat St Ryanagh's and Birr on the path to the final.

There's hope for us yet. Kevin Martin is player-manager too, wing-back on the great Offaly team of the 90's.

So, now Tullamore are in the Leinster club hurling final on Sunday, on home soil in Tullamore, against Ballyhale.

Ironically, if the beat Ballyhale, they will be stopping them potentially winning the most Tommy Moore cups ever - currently Ballyhale and Birr have 4 each. Fast catching them is Portumna, with their 3 all-irelands all won since 2006.
